Dear Friend,
I've always wanted to conquer my fear of public speaking. I really had issues with being the center of attention of a group of people. I had a few times in my life where I was actually forced to get up and give a speech. I never enjoyed it. As soon as I got in front of the podium, I'd look out at the group of people. Instantly I would feel light headed. Everyones face in the audience looked blurred. My mind went blank and I couldn't think of what to say. I started with "ahhh", but it came out quivering and nervous.
That doesn't paint the best picture, but it just shows you that you can be really bad at this and be great within a few months. I searched for public speaking ebooks and tried a few out. I never became successful at speaking until I get my hands on The FAQ Book On Public Speaking. I no longer have a problem with public speaking. When I get up behind that podium, I stand with confidence. When I look out into the crowd, I can stare each person in the eyes. My voice no longer quivers in fear, but projects with power and influence.
Nothing is more empowering than having a large audience following everything you say. They're all engaged and paying attention. They laugh at your jokes. It's an addictive feeling to have that power over a group people.
