You've been working hard at school for the last four years to get your civil engineering degree and once you're let out to the real world you learn that it isn't quite that easy to get a job. All those professors and school recuiters were basically feeding you lies.
It's a tough job just getting an engineering in training job. You're going to have to work your butt off to find one and if you don't have any pervious experience than you're going to have it even tougher than usual.
I'm going to leave you to finding the job. It's all about cold calling and just getting out there. You have to get on the phone and start calling up businesses. It's the interviews that really count because you aren't going to have a lot of them. You have to make'em work.
"Wow You're Hired" is the best guide I've found for teaching you how to have an amazing interview. You have to make these people want you and never forget your name. That's how you're going to get the job.
