Many athletes follow very basic methods that require years of daily training just to get mediocre results. A lot of us don't have the time to train this long because we have commitments. If you have to goto basketball tryouts, than you're going to need to be ready by then. You're not looking for something that will benefit you in five years, but something that is going to give you results very fast. I'm going to show you some methods that will change the way you jump forever.If you want to jump higher faster than you're going to try my favorite method; walking around on the tips of your toes. It seems overly simple, but try doing it for 30 minutes. You'll feel a lot of pain because you're basically locked in that one position right before you lift off the ground. If you can last the 30 minutes, next time try doing it while walking backwards. Those muscles you use to jump will get very springy and give you that explosive push off the ground. Now that we have the springiness of your jump covered, we need to focus on strength. The best thing you can do is weight calf raises. There's a few variations of this, so I'll let you choose, but most gyms have the sweat calf press. Work at this twice a week and watch how over the next month your jumping will improve. |
