Jump Higher For Basketball

Jumping is the most important thing you can learn for basketball. That is why I wanted to share with you some exercises to jump higher for basketball. When you look at all those NBA stars on television doing the amazing jumps that they do, you have to realize that it wasn't something they were born with. A lot of these players had to work extremely hard with high priced trainers to learn the techniques of jumping higher. The good news is that you don't need a high priced trainer to hang around you, you just need to know the exercises. That's why I'm going to show you the exercises to help you jump higher for basketball.

There are two objectives that need to be completed for proper jumping; strength and springiness. Most trainers will have you do one or the other. They must both be done for the best results.

Springiness: An easy exercise you can do is to talk around on the tips of your toes for 30 minutes every few days. It sounds like an easy task, but it's actually quite difficult. If you can easily do this, try doing it while walking around backwards. It makes the process twice as hard.

Strength: I suggest doing squats for this. I know a lot of people primarily focus on calf strength, but the squats focus on the entire leg and don't miss a single muscle that is used in a jump. This is why I always suggest the squat over calf raises.
