Jump Higher and Run FasterOne of the most important things for a basketball player is to jump higher and run faster. This is what you need to be a very competitive athlete in this sport. Have you ever noticed that the players that seem to be able to get up higher are the ones that are faster, better at defense and can shoot better? There are a lot of positives that get brought to the table when you start to focus on your jumping. Most of these athletes didn't have this happen naturally. They had to work at this everyday to get where they are today. If you're will to put in the work, you should be able to jump higher and run faster.One of my favorite exercises to perform is the most obviously; calf presses. There are many you can do, but typically they all boil down to standing calf presses or seated. They're all the same. I do have a simple rule to follow while you're doing it. Most people are doing it slow, which doesn't really help develop the muscles to be explosive. You should be pushing off at a fast explosive speed, so your muscles will emulate that. Another exercise to jump higher and run faster is to walk around on the balls of your feet. It seems like an incredibly simple exercise, but it's hard. When you start approaching the 30 minute mark, you'll be in pain. You can also try walking around backwards like that if you're find it too easy. |
