Lower Back Pain as a Bodybuilder
I know there are a lot of you out there that have issues with your body that make you a little reluctant to get into bodybuilding. Lower back pain is a big one. I think the first time a woman experiences real back pain is during their pregnancy. This is where there is a lot more pressure on the body and this just causes the issues of it.
Essentially lower back pain happens when a nerve has a lot of pressure on it, when it really shouldn’t. There are a number of ways that this could happen. The disc in your spine could be deflated off too much liquid and the vertebrae is grinding right on a nerve. Another common one is that a muscle goes over a nerve and due to being very tense, it pressures the nerve. Any sort of pressure of the nerve will cause lower back pain.
The real question is what you can do about it. This problem is known as sciatica and you’re given three options to deal with the problem. The first is going through expensive and dangerous surgery to remove nerves (some of which can’t be removed). Secondly, be on pain killer medication for the rest of your life. Thirdly, do simple exercises to stretch out your lower vertebrae and muscles in the lower back, so there’s no more tension on the nerves.
I prefer the exercises. Click here for more information on Sciatica Exercises.
